Education is the key to success
This week in Social Studies 6th graders analyzed primary and secondary sources. Students worked station to station and studied artifacts in class.
On Monday the 6th grade attended a field trip to the New Weis Center for Education, Arts & Recreation in Ringwood
Author Matt Myklusch visited today to talk with our students about his writing process, his 10 published books and the joy of writing. A number of students preordered books from Matt.

The JrYAC hosted an ice cream sale on Thursday in support of breast cancer research
Last evening nine new members were inducted into the BMS chapter of the National Junior Honor Society. Congratulations to all new inductees and thank you to all who attended and volunteered their time to help with the event!
The BMS JrYAC is sponsoring their annual food drive from October 9 through November 9. Please see the flyer for more details. The homeroom that brings in the most items will receive a donut party!

The BMS Cross Country team competed in their longest meet of the year yesterday in Tenafly. Great effort everyone!
This week in sixth grade social studies students took part in a cave exploration activity! Students completed stations at which they analyzed artifacts or key paintings from the earliest human ancestors.

Mr. Contaldi’s sixth graders used light meters to measure how much light reflects off and transmits through different materials.
Next week, October 5–9, we’ll be celebrating Week of Respect at Bogota Middle School! Please see the flyer with each day’s theme and activities.
The goal for the week is to keep things simple and meaningful while giving our students different opportunities to think about what respect looks like toward themselves, their peers, and our school community.
