Students from Ms. Skrnich's and Mrs. Silletti's kindergarten classes learned about pollination. They then pretended to be honeybees and moved around the class while acting out pollination with pretend flowers and pretend pollen! @BogotaPublic

Congratulations to our December staff member of the month, Ms. Cali Skrnich! Ms. Skrnich has been teaching in Bogota for the past 16 years. During that time she has taught K-6 Enrichment, 1st grade, 3rd grade, 5th grade, and Kindergarten. Ms. Skrnich is an outstanding kindergarten teacher who brings enthusiasm, dedication, and positivity into everything she does. She consistently goes above and beyond for her students, creating a warm, engaging, and supportive learning environment where children thrive both academically and socially. In addition to her work in the classroom, Ms. Skrnich contributes greatly to the entire school community by helping to manage and run our social media pages. Her efforts help highlight the wonderful events, achievements, and daily moments that make Bixby such a special place. We are grateful for Ms. Skrnich’s commitment to her students, her colleagues, and the Bixby School community. Congratulations and thank you for all that you do! @BogotaPublic

Congratulations to Ms. Leon, our Paraprofessional of the Month! Ms. Leon is a hardworking and dedicated member of our school community who currently assists 1st grade students. She brings a positive attitude to every classroom she enters and consistently ensures that all students feel supported, comfortable, and engaged in their learning. Ms. Leon’s assistance is invaluable, as she is always willing to step in and help wherever needed. Her calm and patient approach helps create a welcoming and supportive environment for students and staff alike. Her dedication, professionalism, and genuine passion for supporting student success make her truly deserving of this recognition. Math class was so sweet in Mrs. Zayas-Bazan and Mrs. Roger's first grade class! Students practiced important math skills by sorting and graphing Hershey Kisses! @BogotaPublic

Check out these weather watchers in Mrs. Silletti's kindergarten class! Students observed and drew the weather on Wednesday. They then discussed the weather with a partner using the new weather vocabulary they learned throughout the unit! @BogotaPublic
