This is a major step toward enhancing recreational opportunities for all, providing a hub for sports, fitness, and community engagement. Students in Mrs. Mawer’s class had a great time learning during centers. This provided them with the opportunity to practice rounding, comparing, and the value of decimal numbers in different fun interactive hands-on environments! Great job!

Steen School would like to congratulate the September Staff Member of the Month, Mrs. Jano. This is Mrs. Jano's 4th year at Steen School. She has taught both 2nd grade and kindergarten and has been a very valuable member of our faculty. Mrs. Jano goes above and beyond for the students in her classroom. She dedicates every second of her day to her students and does everything in her power to make sure she is supporting them and meeting their needs. She is kind and compassionate in all that she does and maintains excellent rapport with students and families alike. Mrs. Jano is a team player and is always collaborating with other teachers in our building to continue to grow as a lifelong learner. One colleague says, “I can't think of a more devoted teacher. She is someone I am happy to work alongside of and I know others can say the same.” Mrs. Jano enjoys spending time with her family and is looking forward to being a Mom-to-be! Congratulations Mrs. Jano! Well deserved!

Students in 4-S are learning all about bones! In this lesson, students traced their hand, drew the bones in their hands, and then used vegetable oil to create art. The final product will look like an x-ray when held up against the window! How exciting!
