Hello! My name is Melanie Lekaj, and I am thrilled to be your Mathematics teacher this year at Bogota Jr/Sr High School. Whether you are taking Algebra 2, Algebra 2 Honors, or AP Statistics, we are going to have a great year connecting the new concepts we explore with the real world all around us.

Goals:
My goals for all of my students are:
To build confidence and perseverance by creating a classroom where students feel safe asking questions, making mistakes, and learning from the process.
To develop conceptual understanding so students understand why mathematical ideas work, not just how to follow a procedure.
To help students become mathematical thinkers who can see math in the world around them, make connections, and apply their learning beyond the classroom.
