Steen School would like to congratulate the February Staff Member of the Month: Ms. Jennifer Cataldi. Ms. Cataldi has been a part of our Steen family for the past 17 years. She started as a K-6 Special Education teacher for several years and then moved to her current position as a third grade teacher. Ms. Cataldi is dedicated to both her students and her peers. She is committed to being a lifelong learner herself and is always finding new ways to engage her students. She also enjoys exploring new educational trends and reflecting on how to best utilize professional development and resources to support her students. Ms. Cataldi makes learning fun for all in her classroom. She constantly strives to meet each student where they are and then works tirelessly to help each of them grow as individuals. Ms. Cataldi's classroom is a very welcoming environment. The care she puts into educating her students shows each day and her students love coming to school because of her as a result. She especially enjoys making reading fun through various read aloud books and has inspired her students to talk about books in their free time. Furthermore, she also creates special traditional 3rd grade experiences such as Friendship Soup and the Wax Museum, that her students will remember for the rest of their lives. In addition, Ms. Cataldi is also a team player and wears many hats in our building. She has been an excellent mentor for many teachers and is always willing to give advice or share successful strategies with her peers. Ms. Cataldi is also a graduate of Bogota as well and loves teaching in the district where she grew up. Some of her hobbies include going for walks, watching her son play baseball and basketball, reading, and catching up with friends. We are so lucky to have a teacher like Ms. Cataldi in our school. Congratulations! Well-deserved!

3rd graders are hard at work during Language Arts reading about Ancient Roman Civilization! Our students are so excited to read nonfiction and learn new vocabulary!
